Beaver Creek Neighborhood Association
About the BCNA
The Beaver Creek Neighborhood Association was formed on May 27, 1993 as an unincorporated non profit group by the adoption of the Articles of Association and the Bylaws. Per the Articles of Association, the purposes for which this association was formed are:
- To own, operate and maintain an association exclusively for the pleasure, entertainment and recreation of its members.
- To do anything necessary and proper for the accomplishment of any purposes set forth in the statement of principals adopted by the founders of this association.
- To promote the above stated aims and purposes and to advance the interest of the membership by all legitimate means.
The association is organized and operated exclusively for the purposes of the above stated purposes, and for other non-profit purposes. No part of any net earnings shall inure to the benefit of any private member.
Membership
A candidate for membership in the BCNA must be a property owner in Beavers Creek.
The entrance dues for a new membership are $50.00. The annual membership dues, payable in advance in the month of January of each year are $50.00. New residents joining after the first day of July in any year will pay one-half of the dues for that year. All dues are non refundable.
Any member neglecting to pay dues for a period of two (2) months after they are due, provided notice of such obligation has been mailed to the member in a timely manner, will forfeit his or her rights to membership. After one additional month, if such dues or obligations are still unpaid, the member may be dropped from the roll of membership at the discretion of the council. If such discretion is not exercised, the member will be dropped from the roll at the end of the calendar year.
Each property owner will have full voting rights of 1 vote per household.
Meetings
The annual meeting of the association for the election of members of the council and the transaction of the general business of the association is held in March.
Special meetings of the association may be called:
- By the president
- By the vice-president or secretary in the absence of the president
- On the written request of a majority of the council
- On the written request of not less than ten members of the association
Seven days’ notice of any special meeting must be given to the members of the association. The notice must state the objective of the meeting.
